The instantly recognisable ‘red’ livery of the Lapierre Zesty 714 2013 shouts out without any doubts which model it is. Over the last three years the Zesty 714 has followed the black and red theme and the progression is alway subtle compared to the colour and style changes of the rest of the Lapierre Zesty family.
The Zesty seems to be turning into the Spicy. With a 142mm wide rear wheel axle, the same slack headangle of the 2011 Spicy and now with a dropper seatpost.
Again the Lapierre Zesty has been spotted with the new E.I. Rockshox Monarch shock fitted. Rumour is that this will be available on some models as an upgrade for around £400 extra.
With such an agressive ‘trail’ bike and the option to add smart E.I. suspension then you have the perfect all mountian race bike.
The Zesty 714 2013 will be running what looks like the new Mavic Crosstrail 2013 with Schwalbe Nobby Nics and Rocket Rons. Is this the end of Hutchinson and Continentals for the Zesty?
Sticking with the tried and tested Shimano XT groupset with the possible addition of an XTR shadow plus rear mech to keep the chain on with all these extra agressive riding capabilities. Once again the incredable stopping power of Formula R1/RX brakes on 180mm rotors.
We predict that the price in the UK will be around the £3600-£3800 mark. We will have to wait until September for Lapierre to fix the pricing at Eurobike.
